German software firm SAP has acquired a privately-held carbon management tech firm for an undisclosed sum.

Clear Standards is based in Sterling, Virginia and New York. The company designs apps for measuring greenhouse gas emissions.

SAP boss Leo Apotheker said in a statement yesterday that the acquisition, which is expected to complete next month, “will accelerate our vision to deliver a complete set of solutions to enable end-to-end sustainable businesses."

Enterprise software maker SAP said the carbon management software it has acquired is aimed at companies that plan “to meet sustainability goals and conform to voluntary goals and regulatory standards.” ®
