Asus’ Eee PC netbook line has expanded once again with the online launch of the 1002H model.
Asus' Eee 1002H: fitted with the latest Atom
The 10in, 1024 x 600 machine has Intel’s 1.66GHz N280 Atom processor inside and has been fitted with a 160GB hard drive. The internal storage comes in addition to the 10GB of online “Eee storage” that Asus also chucks in.
A single gigabyte of DDR 2 memory is fitted into the latest Eee machine, which measures 264 x 181 x 28mm and weighs in at around 1200g. The 1002H has a ‘chiclet’ style keyboard, as seen on the 1000HE – reviewed here, and a MacBook Air-like multi-touch trackpad.
Battery life extends to five hours
Web access comes courtesy of integrated Wi-Fi 802.11n, while Bluetooth 2.0 is also included for short-range data transfers. Speaking of data portability, the machine’s also fitted with a multi-format memory card reader.
You’ll find three USB 2.0 ports on the 1002H, a single VGA port, two audio jacks and a 1.3Mp webcam integrated into the lid.
Asus claimed the 1002H’s battery life will hold out for up to five hours – much less time than the nine-and-a-half hours that the battery in the 1000HE model can supposedly last for.

An availability date or price hasn’t been given, but you’ll have the choice of “Pearl White”, pink or black body colours whenever the 1002H’s released. ®
