Nokia has launched a rather intriguing clamshell phone, a colourful little talker called the 7205 Intrigue.

The phone’s black exterior has been partnered with what’s described as a “hidden-until-lit” external display, the idea being that folk won’t realise that the outside of your phone has a display until a call or SMS comes in.

Prising the clamshell open reveals a two-tone internal keypad that’s available in either “silver-fade” or “pink-fade” finishes. Each has a slightly different navpad.

In terms of features, the phone is equipped with a 2Mp camera that can be triggered from a dedicated button. Music, pictures and videos are stored on Micro SD memory cards of up to 8GB capacity.

Putting the phone into “Habitat mode” means that contacts are displayed in chronological order, which Nokia claimed provides you with... ahem... an “engaging and intuitive” way of tracking, viewing and connecting with chums.

Photos or icons can also be added to a friend’s contact details, while photos can also be directly uploaded onto social networking sites, such as Facebook.

Nokia’s 7205 Intrigue is currently only available in North America, where it costs around $130 (£88/€96). Plans for a European rollout haven’t been announced. ®
