If your toaster’s nearly had it, then why not follow in one weirdo’s visionary’s footsteps by turning your crumbly old bread-warmer into a games console.

The guy behind website Stupid Fingers has already created a NES-based toaster, so naturally his latest project focused on the Super NES (SNES) and resulted in the aptly named Super Nintoaster.

The hollowed out toaster’s left-hand heating rack now accepts SNES videogame cartridges, rather than bread, while the other rack features two controller ports and a reset button.

Crumbs! The Super Nintoaster really plays videogames

Sadly, though, pulling down the toasting handle only turns the console on and doesn’t draw the game cartridge deeper inside the toaster itself.

An mock-toaster “ominous orange glow” appears around the toasting slots when the console’s turned on.

Not really a kitchen accessory

Adjusting the toasting gauge allows you to adjust the intensity of the orange glow – which is pretty cool. The Super Nintoaster also features “properly coloured AV jacks”. ®
