Terry Childs, the rogue San Francisco administrator, must wait until Friday for his day in court.

Childs is accused of locking city officials out of their own network after a dispute. He only relented and handed over the passwords when visited in prison by city mayor Gavin Newsom.

He appeared briefly in court yesterday but the hearing was rescheduled for Friday. He is claiming $3m from the council for wrongfully sacking him and emotional distress caused by the trial.

Childs, who denies doing anything wrong, is spending his time inside reading Cisco books, according to Infoworld.

The city claims his actions cost it $200,000 to put right. ®
