A British Columbia man can consider himself well and truly busted after his 11-month-old son accidentally dialled 911, leading cops to dad's dope plantation.

According to the Canadian Press, Mounties received an emergency call from a residence in White Rock last Friday morning, but "whoever was on the other end of the line hung up". At the house, no one answered the door, so they entered the premises to find a "startled" 29-year-old male who insisted he hadn't made the call.

Officers suggested a child might be responsible, although pop suggested his son was "far too young". The police then spotted the nipper, phone in hand. White Rock RCMP Constable Janelle Canning said: "We saw him playing with the cordless phone and just pressing all the buttons, so evidently he had called 911."

A search of the house quickly revealed "a 500-plant marijuana grow-op", for which the unnamed man will appear in court in April "on charges of production of a controlled substance and mischief".

The phone-happy rugrat was taken away by the Ministry of Children and Family Development, but "later released into his mother's custody".

Canning noted that the mother "does not live in the residence and had no idea what was going on at the home". ®
