The UK government's resilience website is itself far from resilient. Attempts to fill out the feedback form consistently return an ironic runtime error page (screenshot here).

The error message reades in part: "An application error occurred on the server. The current custom error settings for this application prevent the details of the application error from being viewed remotely (for security reasons). It could, however, be viewed by browsers running on the local server machine."

The raison d'être of the ukresilience.gov website is to act as a resource for those involved in civil protection and to support those involved in preparing for possible emergencies. The top four threats currently on the radar, according to the site, include bird flu, flooding, foot and mouth disease, and influenza.

Reg reader Martin Jackson, to whom we're grateful for bringing this error to our attention, notes that ukresilience.gov.uk is liable to cough up unhelpful error messages as a result of lack of investment, presumably in good coding and testing. "Not particularly resilient. Still I don't suppose they (we?) spent much on the site," he writes. ®
