Bored of being associated with delivering milliamps for trickle-charging gadgets, wireless-power company Fulton has decided to show its muscle by equipping a kitchen blender with its wireless technology.

Wireless power has been possible for a long time: most electric toothbrushes are recharged that way, but delivering a decent current between two flat surfaces is much more difficult. Fulton, having scooped up rival Splash Power from administrators, is still looking for a decent application for the technology.

This video shows a worktop fitted with Fulton's induction circuit, and a blender that doesn't need plugging in, though it does apparently need placing on the "Access Point":

Last time it was a grill running wild and free. We're convinced Fulton can deliver the power, but unless the company can convince manufacturers to build their technology into some real products, then our desks will remain littered with cables and our feet surrounded by transformers. ®
