BlackBerry Storm finally blows in

RIM, together with Vodafone, has finally taken the wraps off the worst kept secret in handset history: the BlackBerry Storm.
Although pretty much all of the Storm’s features have already been leaked online, Vodafone has at least confirmed that the UK’s panting punters will be able to get their mitts on the first touchscreen CrackBerry next month.

Storm measures a pocketable 110 x 60 x 6.3mm and is capable of, unsurprisingly, HSDPA connections of up to 7.2Mb/s, whilst also working over quad-band GSM/GPRS/Edge networks. GPS is on-board too.
The display measures 3.25in and sports a 480 x 360 resolution. Many pundits had hoped for haptic feedback on the Storm, and numerous reports have claimed that the phone sports a feedback capability is in a league of its own.
For example, the feedback provided when, say, clicking an on-screen keyboard key is said to be similar to the level of feedback you’d get from a physical keyboard.
Also on-board the Storm is a 3.2-megapixel camera, which is a little sub-par considering the hype surrounding the phone, and the ability to capture video at 30f/s.
On board: 7.2Mb/s HSDPA 3G and a 3.2Mp camera
The phone supports a whole range of audio, still image and video formats, including MP3, JPEG and MPEG 4, respectively. Content’s stored on Micro SD memory cards of up to 16GB.
Storm is perfect for social networking types because it comes pre-loaded with applications for uploading images and films directly onto the likes of Facebook and YouTube.
An official price for the BlackBerry Storm hasn’t been pushed over yet.
