Is that a projector in your pocket, or are you just pleased to see me? Oh, it is a projector, 3M’s micro sized MPro 110, to be precise.

The unit’s size dictates its sub full-HD quality, as it’s only able to display images and video at a resolution of up to 640 x 480 pixels.

Nonetheless, a VGA connector allows users to plug the MPro 110 into a laptop. It’s also compatible with connections from a range of portable devices, including digital cameras and the iPhone.

A thumbwheel allows users to adjust the unit’s focus and, although its quality probably won’t impress home cinema enthusiasts, the MPro 100 will be handy for travelling businessmen or anyone wanting to watch a film on the back of their hand.

According to a report by website Popsci, which has already had a play with the MPro 100, the 3M projector was able to display content on a piece of 8.5 x 11in paper and a colleague’s back.

3M’s MPro 100 will be available in the US later this month for around $360 (£190/€250). A UK release date or price hasn’t been seen yet.
