Microsoft has confirmed that its much hyped 60GB Xbox 360 will be available in the UK on 15th August for £200 (€255/$400). That’s this coming Friday, folks.

Neil Thompson, senior regional director for Microsoft's Entertainment and Devices Division, said: “Now the Xbox 360 has triple the space to house all your entertainment needs at no extra cost.”

The 60GB machine replaces the existing 20GB model, but retains the smaller-capacity model’s price. So, you’ll get more bytes for your buck, more capacity for your cash, etc, etc.

Microsoft's 60GB is now also the second cheapest Xbox 360 available, the least expensive version being the £160 (€205/$320) Arcade model, which has no hard drive. The flagship 120GB Elite model costs £260 (€330/£500).
