A Spanish doctor was last week cuffed for installing a webcam in the toilet of his Barcelona consultancy, a nutritional centre frequented by the likes of motorcyclist Jorge Lorenzo and the sister of former Barcelona ball-worrier Ronaldinho.

According to El País, the webcam was spotted by an employee of Jorge I.P's Centro Médico de Nutrición y Prevención del Envejecimiento (Nutrition and Anti-ageing Medical Centre), who reported it to police.

Officers duly arrested the suspect and impounded a computer to determine "if the camera really did capture images and if they're stored on the computer".

The doctor claimed he'd installed the webcam "to find out who was robbing items from the centre", but now faces an appointment with the beak, having been bailed on an invasion of privacy rap. The maximum penalty on the charge is four years' jail, which can be increased "if it's shown that the doctor copied the images". ®
