Europeans could get their hands on a 3G-equipped Eee PC as early as... the end of September, Asus has indicated.

That's almost a year on from the Asian company's first public comment that it had such an offering in the pipeline.

Since then, rival ECS has touted its G10IL 10in sub-notebook with integrated HSDPA. It's expected to appear through a number of carriers in September or October, IDG reports.

In France, a number of enterprising phone sellers have bundled Small, Cheap Computers with USB 3G modems, and while that's an approach Asus has always been keen on, it's not yet managed to strike up such a deal in the UK.

Right now, the only way to add HSDPA to an Eee internally is to follow one guy's example and do it yourself.
