LG has unveiled a tasty tech treat – a mobile phone designed to make users crave ice cream from morning until night.

LG's LH5000 lights up when calls come in

The 3G LG-LH5000 clamshell comes in three flavours colours; vanilla (pure white), strawberry (sweet pink) and pistachio (sweet blue). Sadly there’s no mention of a Phish Food design, but the three official colours have led the LH5000 to be dubbed, unsurprisingly, the Ice Cream Phone.

When calls or text messages are received, the phone’s coloured front panel shines to grab your attention. Emoticons, such as hearts or smiling faces, can also be displayed on the phone’s outer surface, which Register Hardware recommends you think of like ice cream sprinkles.

The phone has a two-megapixel camera built in and images are displayed on a 2.2in display. Also built into the 100 x 50 x 14mm body is a user-facing camera for making video calls.

LG’s LH5000 phone can currently only be scooped up in Korea, where it costs around 500,000 KRW (£250/€320/$500).
