Grass up romantic sadsacks for only $4.99 a month
Service turns dates with losers into money spinner
Singletons forced to sit through excruciating blind dates can now report their experiences straight from their mobile phone, ensuring that no one else suffers.
PlayerBlock, just launched in the US, allows you to register a comment, linked to the mobile phone number of the person you're reporting on, or check out someone you're planning a date with. So when you find yourself being treated to a doner kebab instead of the dinner you dressed for, you can tell the world before you've finished slamming the door.
The only reason we can think of for posting a good report is if you're trying to get rid of an unwanted suitor; otherwise you'd surely keep the good news to yourself, so be careful who you trust.
Even creepier is the "watch" feature, which lets you know when someone posts any report on a particular phone number, and according to the company "...increases our audience beyond the dating arena and into the relationship space".
$4.99 a month gets you 100 reports or checks, surely enough for the most energetic Lothario - who can rest easy in the knowledge that the terms and conditions prevent the posting of any defamatory reports or ones of a sexual nature. Which rather begs the question - what's the point? ®
