Sainsbury’s clearly thinks it’s onto a nice little earner with Medion notebooks, so it’s stocking up for Christmas.

Medion's MD 96480: don't expect a BOGOF offer on this

The 15.4in display laptop’s based on a 1.5GHz Intel Centrino Core 2 Duo CPU and, possibly because it runs on Vista Home Premium, ships with 2GB of DDR 2 memory. Nvidia’s GeForce 8600M GS dedicated graphics chip is also on board and is twinned with 256MB of GDDR 2 video memory.

It has integrated 802.11a/b/g Wi-Fi and a webcam for holding video conversations online. There’s a built-in digital Freeview TV tuner if surfing the Internet doesn’t hold your interest.

If you’re a keen digi-cam snapper then you can transfer your pics onto the laptop with its four-in-one memory card reader and store them either to its 250GB hard drive or burn them to disc with the dual-layer DVD rewriter.

Sainsbury’s will be selling the laptop from November for £600 (€710/$1200).
