A former executive at NetApp has been charged with wire fraud for allegedly embezzling more than $90,000 for personal expenses.

Bernadette Escue, 41, the former global transportation manager at Sunnyvale-based Network Appliance is accused of pinching from the company coffers between 2001 and 2003.

Escue allegedly ran up the hefty bill using NetApp corporate credit cards, including $12,900 expensed for her son's tuition at a private high school in San Francisco.

The maximum statutory penalty for wire fraud is 20 years in prison and a fine of $1m plus restitution.

Escue is scheduled to make an initial court appearance before US Magistrate Richard Seeborg on October 11. ®
