The mobile phone rumour mill has been grinding to the tune of reports that Samsung has created a stylish slider handset. And now the pictures to prove it have popped up on the web.

The SGH-i450 is thought to run the Symbian OS and sport a Nokia N95-esque two-way slide mechanism. Although tech specs are still unconfirmed, the i450 is thought to be a GSM tri-band handset with HSDPA data connectivity for speedy downloads. In addition, it features a two-megapixel camera, and may include a 2.3in display capable of displaying 256,000 colours.

Photographs of the handset have cropped up on Czech-language website Idnes.cz, which show the front panel being able to slide both upwards and downwards, with the up movement used to reveal the handset's keypad and the downwards slide used, possibly, to activate a built-in speaker.

Other rumoured features include Bluetooth connectivity, up to 1GB of internal memory and a Micro SD memory card slot.

Unfortunately, it's not yet known when or where the handset may appear first, but Register Hardware will be keeping a close lookout at for it at the IFA consumer electronics show, which kicks off in Berlin later this week.
