Foxy Brown is today languishing in jail after a Manhattan judge yesterday revoked her probation for "violating the terms of her release" following an alleged BlackBerry assault on a neighbour, Yahoo! reports.

Brown, née Inga Marchand, was already on probation after copping an assault plea for attacking two manicurists in 2004. In July, she allegedly hurled her BlackBerry at fellow Brooklyn resident Arlene Raymond, "cutting her lip and knocking a tooth loose" in a dispute over Brown "blasting her car stereo".

She was released on $50,000 bail, but had since "skipped her anger management classes and travelled out of the city without permission", according to the authorities.

Department of Probation lawyer Matilde Leo told a hearing in Manhattan Criminal Court: "She has an air of entitlement about her. Probation is a privilege, not a right... She has finally abused that privilege to the point of no return."

Brown's lawyer, Sen. John Sampson, argued that jail wasn't necessary, and that the rapstress had "turned her life around with her pregnancy, wedding plans, and deals for a new album and reality television show".

Judge Melissa Jackson disagreed, and ordered three-months-pregnant Brown detained until her next hearing on 7 September. ®
