AMD's anticipated ATI Radeon X1950 GT graphics chip has come to market on a board built by Sapphire, announced yesterday. AMD has itself yet to formally signal the part's arrival.

The X1950 GT is essentially an under-clocked X1950 Pro. Both contain 36 pixel shaders in 12 parallel pipelines, eight vertex shaders, a 256-bit memory connection and internal support for CrossFire. The Sapphire board's GPU is clocked at 500MHz, with the 256MB of on-board GDDR 3 running at 1,200MHz. A Pro board would boast speeds of 575MHz and 1,38MHz, respectively.

The X1950 GT board has two dual-link DVI ports and TV-out. HDCP support is present too. The card is due to ship later this week for around $180.
