Apple has posted revised firmware for its Intel-based desktop and notebook Macs: the Mac Pro, Mac Mini, iMac, MacBook and MacBook Pro. As usual, the company wasn't explicit in its description of the fixes incorporated in the updates.

The patches focus on three areas: improving the start-up code that allows users with Apple's Windows XP-on-Mac tool, Boot Camp, installed to select which operating system their machine boots into. Apple said the updates also tweak other start-up and wake-from-sleep issues.

The updates are available now on Apple's support site. ®
