Romanian witches look for help with English spellings

Double, double, toil and trouble

Romanian witches have been taking full advantage of their country's recent EU entry.

Before setting off on their broomsticks to head for these shores, they've been learning to speak English.

Apparently it's important to cast spells in the local lingo and means they can use their immense magic powers to improve their UK client base.

One white witch told Ananova that "until now the only words of English I could speak were the names of different whiskies. I thought I should expand my vocabulary".

Elsewhere, a German witch has found herself in a spot of bother with a love potion that turned out to be loveless.

Citing trade description rules a Munich court has ordered her to refund £670 to a heart-broken German woman who hoped the potion would make her lover return.

He didn't.

Happy Halloweening all. Oh, and remember if anyone comes knocking on your door tonight, be sure to hide the whisky. ®
