A three-year-old Lincolnshire computer whizz bought a £9k car on eBay while his mum's back was turned, the BBC reports.

Rachel Neal, 36, left her computer logged into the online tat bazaar and son Jack duly hit the "buy it now" button to secure a Barbie pink Nissan Figaro. Jack's parents discovered their son's spendthrift ways only when they got a confirmation email from eBay.

His mum said: "Jack's a whizz on the PC and just pressed all the right buttons. I was horrified. We now have the parental locks on - and we make sure we sign out of eBay."

Hubby John duly called the vendor - Paul Jones, co-director of Worcester Road Motors near Kidderminster - to explain the situation. Luckily, he "saw the funny side and said he would re-advertise", Mrs Neal explained. ®
