LG shows off 32in 3D display
Three-dimension screens go large

IFA 06 3D displays have been long coming, but the models so far have been fairly small in size and have been fairly unimpressive. However, LG showed of a 32in 3D display at IFA in Berlin which did quite a good job of adding to the depth of field.
The only downside was the 4m ideal viewing distance, although this shouldn't be too much of a problem if this was to become a technology used in TVs. The picture doesn’t do it any justice at all, as the camera was unable to capture the 3D aspect of the panel, but some of the demos looked very impressive.
Also on display was a new 42in display with a plug-in computer module. The PC module is fairly low spec with a 1.8GHz Pentium M processor, 256MB of RAM and either an 80GB hard drive or a 256MB DOM (Disk on Module). It also has onboard Gigabit Ethernet and support for 802.11g WiFi. LG is targeting this setup towards the smart display market rather than the home theatre PC market. ®
