Updated PlusNet's catalogue of disasters just won't end - earlier this morning many of its customers lost internet connectivity, webmail, and telephone support.

The company is blaming a power outage at Telehouse, a co-location facility in London.

PlusNet said it was a power problem which may be hitting other companies too. There are also problems with "MySQL, CGI and two of the caching DNS servers", according to its support pages, and problems with email.

The page continues: "This also means that our telephone support line is unavailable, and customers attempting to contact us via phone will hear it continue to ring rather than being answered by the phone system."

PlusNet marketing manager Brian Trevaskiss apologised to customers and said he hoped service would be restored in a matter of hours. He said a power outage had hit a number of suites at Telehouse.

Update: Simon Day, network improvement consultant at PlusNet, told The Reg at 11.20: "We've got two thirds of our DSL infrastructure back up and running and about 100, 000 customers are online with full access except to webmail. Telehouse are working with their power provider to fix the problems and we're getting half hourly updates."
