Sony has introduced the Cyber-shot DSC-T10, the 7.2-megapixel upgrade to its six-megapixel DSC-T9. The new model, due later this month, also packs in anti-blur technology and a high-sensitivity movie mode - for shooting in low light conditions, not for filming weepies, we'd suggest.

The T10 sports the usual Carl Zeiss Vario-Tessar 3x optical zoom lens mechanism, feeding through to a 2.5in, 230,000-pixel LCD viewfinder. Pictures can be digitally magnified too, with the T9's 2x precision and 13x VGA zoom upped to 6x and 14x, respectively, in the T10.

The T10 has a sensitivity equivalent to ISO1000, up from the T9's 640. That's augmented with the gyro-based Super SteadyShot anti-shake system. Sony said the T10 automatically adjusts the gain and shutter speed for videoing in low light conditions, and lets you use the optical zoom while filming.

The camera adds a slideshow mode for pictures you've taken. Sony's bundling a music transfer app that allows you to rip CDs or copy over MP3s to the camera to provide background tunes for slideshows.

The T10 ships across Europe in September, but US consumers can buy it later this month. Sony didn't provide European pricing, but Stateside buyers will pay around $400 (£xx/€yy) for the T10. ®
