Watching HD TV just got cheaper in the UK, thanks to hardware seller Evesham which has launched a 32in HD Ready telly for a mere £750. Not only is it rather less expensive than comparably specced screens, but it's loaded with connection options and comes with a three-year warranty.

As a display, the V32EMRO-ZE3 has horizontal and vertical viewing angles of 176°. It has an 8ms response time, a contrast ratio of 1000:1 and a brightness rating of 550cdpm². The panel measures 71 x 40cm and has a resolution of 1366 x 786. It's ready for HD pictures at 720p and 1080i - presumably, the latter's downsampled, since the display lacks the resolution for it. The screen is sandwiched between a pair of 10W speakers, and there's a sub-woofer underneath.

Alas, it doesn't appear to have a digital tuner, but with an array of ports on offer, it should be easy enough to hook the screen up to a Freeview or Sky box. The unit has an HDMI port, along with a pair of SCART connectors, and composite video, s-video and component video inputs. There's a D-sub port too, to allow you to hook the screen up to a computer.

The 18.5kg V32EMRO-ZE3 is available now with free delivery from Evesham's lowestonweb.com website. ®
