Lancashire-based ISP Zen Internet walked away with three awards last night as the UK's internet industry came together to celebrate another year in business.

Established in 1995 and one of the UK's oldest ISPs, Zen snapped up the award for the Best Uncontended Service, Best Heavy Business Broadband and Best Business ISP.

Handing Zen the Best Business ISP award, a spokesman for trade group ISPA said: "The judges considered Zen's personal approach to its customers, providing dedicated technical support and account management, to be extremely valuable to business users."

A spokesman for the ISP told El Reg the company was "absolutely ecstatic" about receiving three awards.

Other winners at the 8th Annual UK Internet Industry Awards (aka the "ISPAs") include UK Online for Best Light Consumer Broadband. It was acclaimed as "the first ISP to break the £10 per month barrier (in certain areas)", and understanding that "price sensitivity is a key driver in consumers' transition to faster broadband services".

Elsewhere, Madasafish scooped the Best Heavy Consumer Broadband accolade, while Wanadoo picked up Best Consumer ISP. ®
