Nokia will ship it latest clamshell handset next quarter, pitching the mid-range product at European buyers.

The Nokia 6125 provides quad-band GSM (850/900/1800/1900MHz) network access with EDGE for worldwide coverage, and there's Bluetooth 2.0 on board for data synchronisation and headset support - including wireless stereo headphones. The phone has a 1.3-megapixel camera with 8x digital zoom feeding the main 1.8in, 128 x 160, 262,000-colour screen. The back-up display is a 1.4in, 96 x 65, 65,5360-colour job.

The 6125 has its own Macromedia Flash Player, enabling users to enjoy rich content on their phone, and there's a digital music player app capable of handling MP3, MP4, AAC, AAC+, eAAC+ and WMA files, Nokia said. If that's insufficient for your audio needs, there's an FM radio built in too.

The phone measures 9 x 4.6 x 2.4cm and weighs 98g. Inside sits 11MB of memory, expandable using the phone's MicroSD card slot. The battery is a 820mAh unit which Nokia claimed will provide 2-5 hours' talk time and 160-280 hours' on standby.

The 6125 ships in Q2 for around €230 (£157/$280), excluding taxes and subsidies. ®
