Reader offer The Commonwealth Technology Forum 2005 will be held in London in early July, just after the conclusion of the G8 Summit in Gleneagles.

The Forum will see many of the big names in technology, from government, academia and industry come together to consider issues of IT outsourcing, technology innovation in Europe and how ICT (Information and Communications Technologies) can help in the developing world.

There will be a presentation from the Secretariat Chair of the Commission for Africa, followed by a panel debate on the question "Is Africa the new India". Also, the editorial director of The Times Online will conduct a live interview with Microsoft UK's CEO Alistair Baker, and our own Drew Cullen will be chairing the debate on "India/China and global services".

The content of discussions and presentations at the meeting, particularly those considering the question of the digital divide between developed and developing nations, will be used to form part of a report for the Commonwealth Heads of Government meeting in November 2005.
