UK 3G network 3 will be offering three new Motorola handsets in the run-up to Christmas, the company has said.

The A1000 is pitched at the smart phone market and business users in particular. The Symbian-based handset sports 24MB of user-accessible memory, and ships with a PDF and Microsoft Office-compatible file-viewer for email enclosures. The phone contains a rear-facing 1.2 megapixel digicam with 4x digital zoom and a front-facing VGA camera.

The handset also incorporates Bluetooth. It weighs 165g. 3 claims a talk-time of 225 minutes; 105 minutes on video calls; and 200 hours' standby time. Prices start at £49

The E1000 is focused on multimedia. It too sports a 1.2 megapixel digicam, but also contains twin 3D stereo speakers and an MP3 player to feed them. A 260,000-colour screen completes the handset's media-oriented features. Like the A1000 it has Bluetooth built-in.

The C975 is a low-end model with a VGA digicam - equipped with a 4x digital zoom - and 1.9in 65,000-colour display.

3 did not disclose pricing for the C975 or E1000. The A1000 is already available - the other two will ship later this month. ®
