Stop calling George 'Dubya', you a**sholes
A Republican writes
FoTW We are a fairly hardy bunch, here at The Register - virtually flame-proof, in fact. So, Flame of the Week has to be pretty impressive, one way or another.
This week's flame has not been chosen because of its terrifying power, no. (It'll take more than calling Lester Haines an "assshole" (sic) to get through the layers of asbestos.) We've chosen this one because it was provoked by the most innocent of stories.
This week, an American judge ruled that dolphins will not be allowed to take legal action against the US government over the Navy's use of extremely low frequency sonar.
Activist Lanny Sinkin had filed a lawsuit against the US President, one George W Bush, and Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld, on behalf of the cetaceans. The suit alleged the US Navy had "violated the Endangered Species Act with its use of long range, low frequency sonar".
So which part of that story could possibly provoke a Flame? Well, we referred to El Presidente as "Dubya", which is a lot kinder than many of the alternatives, but apparently, it is not polite enough:
dubya is an insuting term used by a bitch named molly ivans who's whore for that terrorist kerry and you're an assshole!
Right, that's lovely. Would someone get Jim Bell his medication?
And for those unfamiliar with Molly Ivin's column, we heartily recommend that you check it out here. ®
