IT security certification body (ISC)2 is offering bursaries to four of the most promising post-graduate information security students next year.

Available worldwide, the four one-year scholarships offer of up to £7,036 ($12,500) each to full-time post-graduate students pursuing an advanced degree in IT security at any accredited university officially recognised by (ISC)2. Special consideration will be given to students who are Associates of (ISC)2 or holders of the CISSP (Certified Information Systems Security Professional) or SSCP (Systems Security Certified Practitioner) credential, as well as those in particular financial need.

Interested students must submit a scholarship application form, undergraduate and graduate transcripts, three character references, and a proposed budget for the use of the award. The deadline for submissions is 30 November 2004 with awards due to be announced on 30 January 2005. (ISC)2’s scholarship program, which began with a 2004 award, is a component of its worldwide Academic Partner Program. ®
