The chief executive of Orange, Solomon Trujillo, is to leave the company after just one year. His replacement, Sanjiv Ahuja, joined Orange last April as COO.

Trujillo was made CEO in March 2003 having served on the board since 2001. Prior to this he was chairman of regional telco US West Communications.

A company spokesman told Bloomberg the decision was "part of broader changes across the France Telecom group".

France Telecom is re-integrating Orange as a mobile division rather than a separate company.

Trujillo told the New York Times he was looking forward to taking some time off and returning to the States, he remains a special adviser to France Telecom CEO Thierry Breton. ®
