Seemingly genuine pictures of HP's upcoming iPaq 6000 cellular PDA have leaked onto the web, courtesy of Italian site PocketPCItalia.

And the handheld they show looks nothing like the one that appeared in iPaq 6000 piccies posted online earlier this year.

While those shots showed a device with a Treo-style micro keyboard, the new pictures show a more traditional stylus-only device. The PDA's styling is also more akin to other iPaq family members than the earlier pictures. Like the previous shots, this 6000 sports an antenna module.

The new shots also show the device in use - the pictures look like HP publicity photos. While such imagery isn't impossible to fake, it's certainly a darn sight harder than tweaking a full-front PDA-only picture.

PocketPCItalia also offers some specs. for the device. It's based on a Texas Instruments OMAP 1510 processor and contains 64MB of RAM and 64MB of ROM. The display is the usual 3.5in 240 x 320 Pocket PC screen. Expansion is provided through an SD Card slot which also supports the SDIO spec.

As a wireless PDA, the iPaq 6000 will apparently offer everything: Bluetooth, Wi-Fi and quad-band GSM/GPRS. All these radios are powered by the handheld's 1800mAh battery. Infrared and USB ports are provided too.

The 6000 weighs 185g, the site claims, and measures 11.7 x 7.4 x 1.8cm. ®
