ActivCard and Vasco Data Security International today announced the settlement of a patent infringement lawsuit centring on Vasco’s Digipass authentication products.

ActivCard claimed in a federal lawsuit filed in Delaware that Vasco had infringed two of its patents during the design of Digipass.

The agreement dismisses the lawsuit, grants Vasco a worldwide licence to the patents and draws a line under the spat. Additional details were not disclosed, so it's unclear if any money changed hands.

In statements, both Vasco and ActivCard said the agreement avoids the costs and management distraction that a lengthy litigation process would consume. Both say they are pleased with the outcome of the dispute.

Which is nice. ®
