Online auction outfit eBay is to create 800 jobs in Ireland, it was confirmed today.
Around 400 of the jobs will be created for eBay's online payment operation, PayPal, as it establishes a European centre for customer services and its financial operation. The centre will also be responsible for fraud prevention and detection.
Ebay will also employ around 400 people directly as it sets up a second customer support centre in Europe to provide services for punters in the UK and Ireland.
Recruitment is currently underway. All the jobs should be in place by 2005. ®
