Fujitsu Siemens has refreshed its mobile line up with a brace of Centrino notebooks.

The notebooks are an ultraportable, the LIFEBOOK S6120, and a desktop replacement, the E4010. The S6120
incorporates 'multi-bays' - in other words there's space to insert a second battery. Which is cool. And there's a 13.3in TFT-XGA display with 1024x768 res.

The S6120 weighs in "from" 1.7kg which, according to Fujitsu Siemens, makes it the lightest full-featured Centrino notebook on the market. Price? "From" £1199 ex-VAT - we guess the "from" tag applies only to solo punters and small businesses. Fujitsu Siemens is touting the notebook as its main volume notebook for 2003.

The E4010 is a tad pricier, starting from £1209 exc. VAT. It is supplied with a 14in or 15in screen, 1GB DDR RAM as standard, integrated Intel Pro/Wireless 2100 as standard, and network management software. Punters can also install a second hard drive or a second battery.

Fujitsu Siemens launched the new models yesterday at The Wireless LAN event in Olympia London. It is using the exhibition to show off expertise in running heavy duty apps, such as mySAP and Legato, roaming seamlessly over different wireless connections. ®
