Chatham Girls go down too quick

Reg romeos left unfulfilled

It's official: The Reg is the new slashdot, having brought down Geocities hosted Chatham Girls in a matter of minutes yesterday.

Thousands of readers clicked through from our illuminating piece, hoping to find their ideal mate among the Medway Towns' finest.

Sadly, it was not to be. Chatham Girls has exceeded its bandwidth and appears to be out for the count.

Among the many emails expressing frustration and disappointment at this outrage were several accusing El Reg of a deliberate policy of destruction. Not so.

It's a shame that our attempts to add a couple of branches to the limbless Chatham family tree by the injection of some fresh genetic material amounted to nothing more than a dry hump.

The moral is this: if you're going to set up a funny website and, what's more, promote merchandising on it, you'd better be ready for some readers.

So, if the authors of Chatham Girls would like to get themselves sorted with a bit of bandwidth and email us a url, we'll be happy to direct our Escort XR3i-toting stallions accordingly. Be quick - the survival of the species is at stake. ®
