Job seekers shaft bosses

If you're hacked off with work, fed up with constant sniping from your boss or just bored of the same old tedious nonsense, then join the rest of the UK's disenchanted labour force and hunt for a new job at your firm's expense.

According to e-recruitment outfit jobpilot.co.uk, the peak time for people visiting its site in search of a new job is between 10.00am and 3.30pm.

Which suggests that disgruntled employees are using their boss' time to hunt for a new job.

The research also found that with 37 per cent of weekly page views, Tuesday is the most popular day of the week to look for jobs.

Wednesday was the second most popular day with 21 per cent, closely followed by Monday and Thursday, with 17 per cent each.

With just four cent of the weekly traffic, Friday is the quietest day of the working week for enquiries. Probably because the weekend's just around the corner or everyone's cleared off down the pub.

Anyhow, Stu Davies, MD of jobpilot.co.uk, said: "The findings have come as quite a surprise as we were expecting that the two main peaks in the day would be lunchtime, where many employers allow employees to use the internet for personal use, and after working hours.

"It would appear, though, that many employees are disillusioned or bored with their current jobs, which prompts them to start searching for jobs whilst at their place of work rather than encroaching on their leisure time," he said.

Sounds fair enough - so long as they don't get caught. ®
