Punters still suffering BTOpenwoe Anytime misery

The row over whether BTopenworld is offering an inferior service to some 34,000 Anytime punters continues to trundle on.

It's almost three weeks since a TV programme alleged that BTopenworld had migrated these customers to a poorer service because they were heavy users.

BTopenworld denied - and continues to deny - that it is offering a two-tier ISP service. It continues to claim that it is merely trying to balance its network and provide a better service.

With such assurances in place, El Reg is just a tad mystified why we keep getting emails from readers who claim their quality of their Net access has plummeted since they've moved to the new dial-up number.

And yet, BTopenwoe insists there isn't a problem.

We're somewhat puzzled to read comments posted in newsgroups and bulletin boards of people's frustration at their inability to log on to the AnyTime service.

We're also baffled at reports that the Watchdog TV programme is to follow-up on the problem again this week because of the barrage of complaints it has received.
