Big Blue spewed out a whole raft of product updates today on its ThinkPad and NetVista product lines.

On its desktop PCs, the NetVista range, there is a new high performance M-series, as well as an upgraded A- and X-series. It also released a PCI-based wireless LAN card available for NetVistas.

On the ThinkPad side, the company has added wireless capabilities to many of its models, as well as improved security features. Select models now feature its dual antennae design for improved signal reception and transmission on wireless networks. There is a new R30 ThinkPad that offers a thin and light design at a lower price point (ranging from £933 to £1,483), but will be only available from the end of October.

It has also redesigned its high-end A-series ThinkPad to include Bluetooth and 802.11b wireless LAN support. This is available on the A30p model, which also sports two modular bays, an embedded security subsystem (which is able to work seamlessly with Tivoli Policy Director software) and an enhanced, high-resolution, FLexView display.

Finally, we see an upgraded X- (with integrated wireless and new security features) and T-series, which now includes wireless capabilities. ®
