Crashes too much

Updated Radiohead's bassist Colin Greenwood has kicked loose with his hardware and software preferences during an interview with UK site Culturelab.

Colin says all the band have Powerbooks, which you might have guessed, and he's also got an Atari ST.

On the Powerbooks the band run eMagic's Logic music production software "because it never crashes, unlike Cubase."

Other things he likes are "an Akai MPC 60 for those like hiphop, swing moments and an Akai S3000 200XL just because everything sounds great. They're just things to play with instead of playing on the Playstation."

Headphones are one of Colin's obsessions. "I have six pairs...My favourite are Sennheiser Drivers, moulded to your ears so you can't hear anything outside when you're wearing them and they're the best thing, they're amazing, they cost about £130 and you can walk along the street listening to your favourite Lali Puna track and get hit by a car." ®

Update

A number of readers have written in to say that there is no such thing as an Akai S3000 200XL. But there is an Akai S3000XL, and an Akai S2000.

We have no idea which Colin Greenwood meant, but thanks to everyone who wrote in. heck out Akai's range here.
