Commie cell in MS secretly pushing GPL to customers

The cancer spreads through Redmond itself...

Bill Gates' trenchant warning about the Pacman-like qualities of the GPL this week has come too late. GPL-toting commies are already inside the organisation and busily subverting Microsoft in order to overthrow the US economy.

Or at least, the Internal Revenue Service - but doesn't that amount to the same thing? Unbeknownst to Chairman Bill (surely...) these Red subversives secretly bought Softway Systems a couple of years back in order to plant the plague bacillus deep inside Fort Redmond. Cunningly promoting Softway's innocent-sounding Interix Unix-Windows NT interoperability product, they slowly grew in strength.

In March of this year they had become strong enough to use Microsoft's own web site to boast that the IRS had been infected with Interix. the IRS, clearly ignorant of Microsoft's wise advice to implement lawyer-based deflector shields, used Interix to migrate its applications from Unix to NT. Naturally, there's no mention of the evil GPL payload Interix carries.

Nor is that the end of it - the merchants of death have hijacked Microsoft's systems in order to offer this perverted software to all and sundry for just $20, or as a download from here. This incidentally won't let The Reg log in anonymously, but we might try a few suitably revolutionary login/password combinations later.

Just $20, or a bit of bandwidth, and you're hooked, with a lifetime of misery and thralldom ahead of you. They're coming through the walls, they're creeping up the company hierarchy, you can't be sure of anyone any more, no matter how senior they are. Somebody's got to tell Bill, before it's too late. Unless... ®
