A Northern Irish man has received a suspended prison sentence for counterfeiting games software.

On May 25, Eugene Geraghty, a 35 year-old furniture store manager, was fined £2,000 and sentenced to three years, suspended for two years, after pleading guilty to a variety of trademark offences before Newry Crown Court.

The case took a long time to get to court. On December 10, 1999, Royal Ulster Constabulary (RUC) officers raided the furniture store, located in May Road, Armagh. They found 192 bootlegged Playstation CDs, with a retail value of £5,760. ®
