Cash-strapped online purveyor of cheap air tickets Lastminute.com has turned - like Yahoo! etc. - to porn to make ends meet (as it were).

Not that it's selling smutty pictures itself, you understand, but we were surprised to see the e-commerce travel pioneer offering a six-month subscriptions to jazz mags.

And we're not talking magazines for musicians here. Unless, of course, it's practitioners of the pink oboe... ahem...

Up for sale here is a six-month subscription to the UK edition of Penthouse. Says the ever more dreadful, '18 to 30' Lastminute.com: "No more sneaking into newsagents, lads - your top-shelf requirements can now be fulfilled by Lastminute.com!"

And: "What red-blooded male could possibly resist a combination of the world's most beautiful women along with cool lifestyle reports, interviews and news?"

Well, we'd read it for the articles, wouldn't you?

We'd like to say the latest issue features Lastminute principal Martha Lane-Fox besporting herself in the buff, but no, Jordan and Joanne Guest appear to be the stars of the scan that appears on the Lastminute offer page.

Fox! Geddit?!? Sounds a bit like Fu.... [Enough, laddie - Ed]

And it gets better. It turns out, Martha's top-shelf is supplied by a partner, eMagazineshop.com, whose address is provided for anyone keen to write off for further details. And where does the premier purveyor of porn reside?

Beavor Lane, where else? ®
