Readers' Letters Can you tell me where ‘Hangover’ is?

Funnily enough we can...

John 'Lips' Leyden has had quite a week. No sooner had he got back from the journalists' Stalingrad that is CeBit and distributed all the lederhosen and oompah compilation CDs requested by fellow Reg hacks, than he found that he had fallen foul of that old chestnut - Humour Blindness Syndrome. First up was IT Administrator Joerg Uckermann:

Hi John. Can you tell me where "Hangover" is?? The CeBit used to be in Hannover, have they changed the location?? Or are you using the ms-word spellchecker??

Confused? Well, Terje Bolling will set you straight:

Your article Voice over DSL: good for slashing your phone bill? contains a piece of information that could have been much more interesting - if it were true: "VoDSL (voice over DSL) technology, which was displayed by a number of firms at the CeBIT show in Hangover, Germany," you wrote.

The town is actually called Hannover. Tourists having too much cheap German beer may have a reason to change that name. Not a sober tech reporter like yourself.

Gentlemen, you are cordially invited to pop round Vulture Central on a Friday afternoon. We'll show you where 'Hangover' is.

Best of the rest
