Flame of the week Before revealing this week's cordon bleu canape of insanity, it's worth looking at a recent letter from Simon Cassia:

Yours must be one of the most amusing jobs in history (selecting flame of the week). Do you write them yourself, or are there really nutters out there who write this high-quality comedy? Keep it coming! (if you see what I mean)

This is not the first time that there has been a suspicion that we knock out this stuff ourselves. I assure readers that all flames are written by the cream of mouth-foaming nutters.

And yes, as a job it's hard to beat.

Now, examine closely the following from Tony La:

The recipient of this flame, Tony 'Nine Hats' Smith, used the word 'moot' in his story about Apple's return to the UK Mac show. Our flamer's response to this outrage fulfils most of the basic criteria for a world-class flame:
