The Register has received some interesting feedback to the interview published yesterday with the president of BT Ignite, Steve Andrews.

Here's what some of you had to say:

Peter Galbavy wrote: "Interesting article. As usual, a senior BT manager has talked rubbish. I remember, working for Demon, how much crap they spouted in public exchanges or in meetings with senior management.

"Meanwhile of course nothing actually changed. The public image that BT actively project to the media and politicians is fundamentally different to the real world, as we all know. They have failed to change in the last 10 years and will continue to fail to change for the next 10, unless some external body (Oftel, ha ha!) takes real action, with punitive results.

"But, on the other hand, I have to say this with hand on heart, BT 'still' outperform every other telecoms outfit in the UK."

This from Derry Thompson

"I quote: 'If our customer base wants more, we can deliver more...although clearly there is an upper limit.'

"He insisted that 'supply is now meeting demand'.

"I'm demanding it in Bewdley, Worcestershire. There is no supply, nor any timescales for supply.

"If you live outside of a major urban area you've as much hope of getting broadband as seeing pigs fly.

"So much for frigging teleworking."

And here's a different view from M Dekay in the US.

"I have a question. Why are so many people 'knocking' xDSL. Is xDSL/Cable better then dialup? As in, is it faster then a 33.6 modem (56k doesn't count, because I live in BFE and it doesn't work worth a goddamn).

"Does any large company EVER deliver on ANYTHING they 'initially' quote on ANY sort of new service? (in the tech sector at least). NO. They never do, so why the !@#% are so many all up in arms about it? Get used to it, wait your turn.

"No I am not an employee for any of these companies in question, I'm just trying to state that things move at a snails pace. Even if they promises we're going to have flying cars tomorrow, what they really mean is they had an idea for flying cars today and someone in development is looking into it." ®
