Hermit says Delphi no Oracle

Funny things happen on way to forum

The moderator of our Online Forum, Hermit at Hoodview, has had it with Delphi.

And we can't say we blame him. Hermit discovered over the weekend that Delphi had unilaterally booted him off the forum as moderator, and then was unable to get himself back on because of repeated downtimes and cryptic error messages like this: "Microsoft OLE DB Provider for ODBC Drivers error '80040e31' [Microsoft][ODBC SQL Server Driver]Timeout expired F:\N\MB\..\..\include\incDelphi.asp, line 252 ".

Said Hermit this morning, frustrated after a series of similar problems for days and days: "I've tried to log into the moderators forum and of course that sucker is down too. If I had a phone number I'd try it, but it's more than likely down also. Gonna finish reading the comics at San Jose Times, try Delphi and if it's still *$@$@!$ I'm off to bed."

Although Delphi Forums are free, and have a large number of subscribers, the problems are not new. The service has been plagued with similar problems for at least the last 12 months.

The Oracle at Delphi did not shut up shop until the sixth century of the Christian era. ®
